This Privacy Policy describes how EU Energy Monitor ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile and desktop application.

1.1 Information You Provide

EU Energy Monitor is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:

• Country Preference: Your selected default country for displaying energy data. This is stored locally on your device only.
• API Keys (Optional): If you choose to enter API keys for additional data sources (e.g., AGSI+, ENTSO-E), these are stored securely in your device's Keychain and are never transmitted to our servers.
• App Settings: Your preferences such as language, notification settings, and display options are stored locally on your device.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

The App does not collect any personal information automatically. We do not use:

• Analytics or tracking software
• Advertising identifiers
• Location tracking
• Device fingerprinting

1.3 Information from Third-Party APIs

The App fetches publicly available energy data from official European sources:

• Energy-Charts.info (Fraunhofer ISE)
• ENTSO-E Transparency Platform
• GIE AGSI+ (Gas Infrastructure Europe)
• ENTSOG Transparency Platform

These requests are made directly from your device to these services. We do not proxy or log these requests.

2. How We Use Your Information

The limited information stored locally is used solely to:

• Display energy data relevant to your selected country
• Remember your app preferences between sessions
• Authenticate with optional data services using your API keys

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage Only: All your data and preferences are stored exclusively on your device.
• Secure Keychain: API keys are stored using Apple's Keychain Services, providing hardware-level encryption.
• No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud service. Your data stays on your device.
• No Server: We do not operate any servers that collect or store user data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with third parties. Period.

When you use the App, your device communicates directly with public energy data APIs. These services have their own privacy policies:

5. Data Retention

Your preferences and cached data remain on your device until you:

• Delete the App
• Clear the App's data through device settings
• Manually reset settings within the App

6. Children's Privacy

EU Energy Monitor does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. The App does not require account creation or personal information to function.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: View your settings directly in the App
• Correction: Modify your preferences at any time
• Deletion: Delete the App to remove all stored data
• Portability: Your data is already on your device

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
