BitPast does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app works entirely offline on your Mac. Your images never leave your device.

Overview

BitPast is a native macOS application designed for converting modern images into authentic retro computer graphics formats. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

In short: We collect nothing. Your data stays on your device.

Data Collection

BitPast does not collect any data whatsoever. Specifically:

No personal information - We don't ask for your name, email, or any identifying information
No usage analytics - We don't track how you use the app
No crash reports - We don't automatically collect crash data
No advertising identifiers - We don't use any advertising or tracking SDKs
No network requests - The app works completely offline

Image Processing

All image processing happens locally on your Mac. When you convert an image:

The image is read from your local file system
Processing occurs entirely in memory on your device
Converted files are saved to locations you choose
No images are ever uploaded to any server
No images are shared with third parties

Third-Party Services

BitPast does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app is completely self-contained.

Data Storage

BitPast may store the following data locally on your device only:

User preferences - Your conversion settings and app preferences
Recent files - References to recently opened files (standard macOS feature)

This data is stored using standard macOS mechanisms and never leaves your device. You can clear this data at any time through macOS system preferences.

Children's Privacy

BitPast does not collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page. However, since BitPast is designed to work offline without data collection, significant changes are unlikely.
