What we collect
Retro TV is a native macOS app that runs entirely on your Mac. It does not have user accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not send your video files, library contents, watch history or any personal data anywhere.
Local storage
The app stores the following on your Mac, in standard macOS locations (UserDefaults and the app's sandbox container):
- Security-scoped bookmarks for folders you add to the local library, and for videos you mark as favourites — so the app can re-open those files across launches.
- The list of channels you've loaded and the currently selected TV profile.
- Your last sidebar tab and volume level.
Nothing in this list ever leaves your Mac.
Network usage
Retro TV makes outbound network requests only when you actively use the Internet Archive search tab:
- archive.org — search queries you type are sent to the Internet Archive's public advanced-search and metadata APIs; the streaming video URL you select is loaded directly from archive.org.
We don't send analytics, telemetry, crash reports or any other data. This homepage uses GoatCounter for basic page-view counts (no cookies, no IP storage).
App Store
Apple's App Store may collect download and review information independently. See Apple's privacy policy for details.
