ExifEasy is designed with privacy at its core. All photo processing happens entirely on your device. No data is collected, transmitted, or shared with anyone.
Data Collection
ExifEasy does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app operates entirely offline and locally on your Mac.
Specifically, ExifEasy does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Photo contents or metadata
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Device identifiers
On-Device Processing
All photo metadata reading and writing is performed entirely on your Mac using Apple's ImageIO framework. No photos, metadata, or any other data are ever sent to external servers.
Location Services
ExifEasy may request access to your Mac's location services to allow you to geotag photos with your current location. This feature is entirely optional. Your location data is used only to set GPS coordinates in your photos and is never transmitted off your device.
File Access
ExifEasy accesses photo files only when you explicitly drag and drop them onto the app window or select them using the file picker. The app reads and writes metadata directly to your photo files on your local storage. This access is protected by macOS sandboxing and security-scoped bookmarks.
Map Display
ExifEasy uses Apple Maps to display photo locations and allow you to pick GPS coordinates. Map data is loaded from Apple's servers. This is standard Apple Maps functionality and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
ExifEasy does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks. The only external service used is Apple Maps for displaying the interactive map.
Children's Privacy
ExifEasy does not collect any data from any user, including children. The app is safe for use by people of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Since ExifEasy does not collect any data, significant changes are unlikely.
