Terra5 ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS application.

2. Data We Collect

Terra5 does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require account creation, login credentials, or any form of user registration.

Specifically, Terra5 does not collect:

Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
Location data from your device
Usage analytics or tracking data
Device identifiers or fingerprints
Browsing or search history
Contacts, photos, or other personal files

3. How the App Works

Terra5 fetches publicly available geospatial data directly from third-party APIs and renders it on a 3D globe. All data processing happens locally on your device. No user data is sent to our servers — we do not operate any servers.

4. Third-Party Data Sources

Terra5 connects to the following public data services to retrieve geospatial information. When your device makes requests to these services, standard network data (such as your IP address) may be logged by these providers according to their own privacy policies:

ADS-B Exchange — Live flight tracking data (Privacy Policy)
CelesTrak — Satellite orbital element data
USGS Earthquake Hazards — Seismic event data (Privacy Policy)
USGS Volcano Hazards — Volcano alert levels (Privacy Policy)
Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program — Holocene volcano catalog
NASA FIRMS — Satellite fire detection data (Privacy Policy)
RainViewer — Weather radar data (Privacy Policy)
Apple Maps / MapKit — Globe rendering, satellite imagery, and traffic data (Privacy Policy)

We have no control over the data practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

5. Local Storage

Terra5 stores the following data locally on your device:

User preferences (selected data layers, visual filters, display settings) in UserDefaults
Temporary cached API responses to reduce network requests

This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

6. Advertising

Terra5 does not display any advertisements and does not integrate any advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks.

7. Analytics

Terra5 does not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, or usage tracking. We do not collect telemetry of any kind.

8. Children's Privacy

Terra5 does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.

9. Your Rights

Since Terra5 does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. You can:

Uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored preferences and cached data
Use your system's network settings or firewall to control which data sources Terra5 connects to

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
